CBD oil Quality. (CBD Oil Quackwatch)

How do you know that the CBD product you’re buying contains the right amount of active and inactive ingredients, and is clean of any harmful ingredients?

CBD oil can be beneficial for many health problems but how can you be sure that what’s on the bottle is exactly what’s inside the bottle?

How do you know that the CBD product you’re buying contains the right amount of active and inactive ingredients, and is clean of any harmful ingredients?

In this video, we’ll discuss how to shop for the CBD oil and find the best quality product.

The reason I’m making this video is an interesting study that I came across recently – this Study revealed that

70% of CBD products sold online had serious inconsistencies between their labeled and actual amounts of CBD:
– 43% – too little CBD
– 26% – too much CBD

Although it wasn’t even mentioned on the product’s label
– 20% of products contained THC (the psychoactive component of cannabis)
– not mentioned on the label
– Some CBD products had up to 0.6% of THC
– the legal limit is under 0.3%

Out of all the tested products
– Vape Liquids – 88% mislabeled
– CBD Oil Products – 55% mislabeled

Manufacturers who use high-quality equipment and skilled technique produce higher quality products, but currently many facilities where CBD products are made are not ideal for this.

In December 2018, Congress passed a farm bill that lifted the ban on growing hemp. As long as the plant contains less than 0.3% THC, hemp can be grown legally anywhere in the US by licensed farmers.

Everything that I’ve mentioned so far is for the purpose of equipping you, so you know how to find the best CBD product out there.

So, what should you be looking for when shopping for CBD products?
-Look for third-party lab tests results
To find if a product has undergone third-party analysis, you can look for signs like certified by USP or NSF International – there are common 3rd party organizations that do these tests.

Was the product tested for microorganisms, like fungus and bacteria?

Because there are many cases where the plants could carry an organism, like the mold called aspergillus, and this can cause a serious infection.

Find out if CBD came from cannabis/marijuana or hemp plant
– If hemp: ask where it came from

Cannabis plant contains up to 20% CBD.

Hemp, however, has only trace amounts of CBD (~3.5%), so it would take a lot of hemp to get enough CBD oil for medicinal effects.

You have to be cautious and ask more questions if you see Industrial hemp listed as the source of the CBD oil because it’s often cultivated for its soil cleaning effects – since it’s effective at soaking up the toxins from the soil..obviously these toxins may end up in the final CBD product.
The reason why hemp is commonly used is because its THC amount is within the legal limits of less than 0.3%.

Hemp grown in a healthy environment is very good nutritional food, an excellent source of plant protein, fiber, omega 3, 6, but as a medicinal plant, it’s not as strong as cannabis.
One more interesting thing I want to mention is that CBD and THC are considered Synergistic Chemicals = together they’re more effective than each one used separately

Flavonoids and Terpenes also aid in medicinal effects

It’s been found that taking CBD together with terpenes and omega-3 can enhance its medicinal effects, as they all work together to magnify the therapeutic effects of each other

Entourage Effect

Terpenes = marijuana’s essential oils, that give the plant its fragrance and taste

So pure, isolated CBD products may have limited health effects, as compared to

Full Spectrum Products – include terpenes and other cannabinoids, like THC

But, if you want to avoid the THC (in case if it’s illegal in your state), look for

Broad Spectrum Products – contain terpenes, and other compounds, but no THC
