Delegates at the UN’s poison gas watchdog conference are at odds, over a new body that will be able to assign blame for toxic attacks.
Several countries are threatening to block funding during Wednesday’s budget vote – if it includes provision for the new fault-finding team.
Previously, the OPCW could only say ‘whether or not a chemical attack had taken place’. But, now this mandate is in question after leaks from whistleblowers.
