Description
ACE-031 1mg – ActRIIB-Fc Fusion Protein for Myostatin Inhibition Research
ACE-031 (also known as Ramatercept) is a recombinant fusion protein composed of the extracellular domain of the human activin receptor type IIB (ActRIIB) linked to the Fc portion of human immunoglobulin IgG1 . This research peptide functions as a potent soluble ligand trap, binding and neutralizing myostatin, activin A, and other negative regulators of skeletal muscle growth . By sequestering these ligands, ACE-031 effectively inhibits ActRIIB signaling pathways, promoting increased lean body mass and muscle fiber hypertrophy .
Key Research Applications
-
Myostatin Inhibition Research – Studies the blockade of myostatin (GDF-8) and activin A signaling pathways, which are critical regulators of muscle growth inhibition .
-
Muscle Wasting and Cachexia Models – Investigated in models of muscle atrophy, Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), and chronic disease-related muscle loss .
-
Muscle Hypertrophy Studies – Examines the mechanisms of ActRIIB ligand trap-induced skeletal muscle growth and fiber cross-sectional area increases .
-
TGF-β Superfamily Signaling – Explores downstream SMAD signaling pathways and the cross-talk between myostatin, activin A, and other TGF-β family members .
-
Skeletal Muscle Metabolism Research – Used in studies on muscle protein synthesis, satellite cell activation, and muscle regeneration .

Research Background
In preclinical studies, ACE-031 has demonstrated significant increases in lean body mass and muscle fiber cross-sectional area. In a 14-week study on non-human primates (marmosets), ACE-031-treated subjects showed greater lean body mass and increased muscle force production compared to controls . In healthy volunteers, a single dose of ACE-031 resulted in up to 3.3% increase in total body lean mass and 5.1% increase in thigh muscle volume . These findings support the research value of ACE-031 in studying muscle mass regulation and growth pathway modulation.
Important Safety Notice
⚠️ FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY
This product is strictly intended for in-vitro research and laboratory use only. It is not approved for human consumption, therapeutic use, or clinical applications by any regulatory authority (e.g., FDA, EMA, etc.) . Due to safety concerns observed in clinical trials (including epistaxis and telangiectasias), the development of ACE-031 was terminated in Phase II . This product is for research use only.
