Research Background
In a pivotal study published in Science Translational Medicine (2011), Adipotide was evaluated in obese Old World monkeys. After four weeks of treatment, obese monkeys lost on average 11% of their body weight, with MRI and DEXA confirming a 27% reduction in white adipose tissue . The study also demonstrated improved insulin resistance in the treated monkeys, while lean monkeys showed no weight loss, indicating the compound’s effect may be selective for obese subjects .
