Description
Ovagen 20mg – Synthetic Tripeptide for Ovarian and Reproductive Research
Ovagen (Glu-Asp-Leu, EDL) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology . Belonging to the family of short peptide bioregulators, Ovagen is specifically designed for research into ovarian function, reproductive health, and hepatic tissue applications.
Ovagen has been investigated for its potential to support ovarian function, improve follicular development, and regulate hormonal balance in reproductive research models . The peptide has been studied in the context of fertility research, ovarian reserve studies, and age-related decline in reproductive function .
Key Research Applications
-
Ovarian Function and Follicular Development Research – Investigated for its effects on ovarian cell function, follicular growth, and egg quality in laboratory models .
-
Reproductive Endocrinology – Explored for potential modulation of hormonal regulation pathways, including estrogen and progesterone balance .
-
Fertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology Research – Studied in the context of ovarian reserve and in vitro fertilization models .
-
Hepatic Tissue Research – The Glu-Asp-Leu sequence is also noted for affinity to liver tissue, making Ovagen a versatile tool for hepatocyte biology and gastrointestinal studies .

Mechanism of Action
Ovagen is classified among the short regulatory peptides proposed to act as genome-level bioregulators . Studies suggest that this tripeptide may form complexes with d(ATATATATAT) sequences located in the minor groove of DNA, binding preferentially to AT-rich stretches of mammalian DNA where many regulatory interactions occur . Through these interactions, Ovagen is suggested to interact with the expression of genes encoding cellular aging markers and other regulators of cellular stress responses .
Reconstitution Guidelines
Reconstitute the lyophilized peptide with sterile water or bacteriostatic water. Gently swirl (do not vortex) to aid dissolution . Once reconstituted, aliquot into smaller volumes and store at -20°C to minimize freeze-thaw cycles . Unopened lyophilized powder can be stored long-term at -20°C in dark, dry conditions .
