Kratom will be treated as a Schedule 1 drug in the US beginning September 30. No drug should be prohibited, but banning a drug like kratom given the current context of its use is particularly absurd.
Along with addressing the ban, I discuss some of the misinformation that has come from people on both sides of the issue.
Update: The ban appears to have been delayed. It may still go into effect, but not on September 30.
